Quotes of Love: January 2018

When I started yoga teacher training they required us to start a website and use it to blog and post about our yoga journey. My first response was, "WTF! This isn't yoga?!?" And "why do I have to share!" Everything I am thinking has been said before and better by someone else.  Half kidding, but mostly serious I decided that my voice would be supported by people whose words have inspired me.

Now it has been over a year of teaching yoga, having a website, and sharing on social media. As planned, my posts are filled with inspirational quotes by wiser, better spoken people. And this year, I am committed to keeping track of the quotes that light up my life and share a few of my favorites, monthly. Here they are!

“An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life.‘A fight is going on inside me,’ he said to the boy.‘It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil — he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.’He continued, ‘The other is good — he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you — and inside every other person, too.’The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, ‘Which wolf will win?’The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.’”Cherokee Legend
